In Week 7 of this term I hosted a homestay student named Kento from Yonago Higashi High School in Japan for the week during their Study Tour. Together, we explored various places such as the beach, the Adelaide Fringe festival, Adelaide CBD, and Cleland Wildlife Park.
Throughout his stay, I witnessed a remarkable improvement in Kento鈥檚 English proficiency which allowed us to exchange insights into each other’s cultures. During our down time at home, we bonded over video games and movies, and created cherished memories.
By the end of his visit, Kento affectionately referred to Adelaide as his second home. This enriching experience not only broadened my understanding but also forged a lasting friendship.
