At the ASMS we look at what motivates and inspires students, and their potential to tackle complex problems with imagination, energy, and intelligence.
We look for three things in our students:
- Your passion, ability or potential in science, mathematics and related technologies;
- Your capacity to engage with the innovative teaching and learning environment of ASMS;
- Your interest in pursuing pathways based on science and mathematics.
As part of the application process, students are required to join a Discovery Day, to experience our unique learning environment and interdisciplinary curriculum.
Study Aviation as an external student
If you’re from another school, you can apply to join us to study Stage 2 Scientific Studies (Aviation) as a single subject.

Key application dates
We know that circumstances can change, so we give applicants the opportunity to apply throughout the year, with three admission cycles.
Round #1 for 2025 closes on 31 May 2024.
Places are limited and students are encouraged to apply early to avoid disappointment. When we are at capacity, students who meet our application criteria will be placed on a waitlist. Students who apply after the closing of the last round will automatically be placed on a waitlist.
